3 Doors Down

So last night I went to see 3 Doors Down with Michael. Great show, great music and I got myself a cool t-shirt! Opening band was Three Days Grace, they were not bad, did not know them that well, but worth checking out... 3DD was fantastic, very energetic show and Kryptonite just rocked the house!! Here are some pictures of the show and the setlist...

Amsterdam Marathon

Last year Cecile ran the Half Marathon of Amsterdam, this year she was doing the 42.2 km Marathon of Amsterdam. Now, I understand running to stay fit... but running 42.2 km...for fun? Not really.. ;-)

But to see someone run the Marathon and succeed is another matter... very impressive!
So on Saturday we picked up Cecile's race number, the chip for time registration and a snazzy jacket I had ordered for her. On the way to the Sporthallen Zuid we walked along the Schinkel and took some pictures..

and also passed by a new park... with some really creative Natural art...

Then of course we had to go and eat some bitter balls... ;-)

Sunday morning.. Cecile stretching for the Marathon

The Start of the 33rd Amsterdam Marathon in the 1928 Olympic Stadium...

At the 7 km mark...

I was there for the start of the Marathon at 10:30 and I managed to bike towards Oudekerk a/d Amstel to be at the 25 km mark in order to refill her water supply and offer support, then I biked back to the Olympic Stadium in order to see Cecile finish...

After the finish she quickly put on some warm clothes and proudly showed off her medal...

Respect!

And not only did she finish the Marathon but only 3 hours later we went out to a celebratory dinner and she was dressed up and wearing high heels...

Credit due here, I am very impressed on both counts!

South of France

So recently I spent a nice week at my Mom's place in the South of France. Just relaxing, catching up with Mom, enjoying nice lunches, dinners and some lovely French wines...
